End Result

It's interesting that there is techniques and software out there to make your images look old as if you used good ol' film to produce the image. It seems to me that people still like things that have character or a uniqueness about them while digital photos tends to be to somewhat sterile.

Photography is an art, but also what makes a good photograph is how it's delivered. This is why I'm not a photographic purist, I believe in the end result. I tend to like images that evoke emotion, good or bad. If looking at a certain photo makes you stop and think, then I believe that image has done it's job.

The story and loss of James Kim has affected me.
I never personally knew him but knew of him through the technology community.
James seemed to be a very nice guy and a great family man.

I remember watching him on Tech TV and he was reviewing printers and cameras and printed a photo of his daughter for a test sample, he seemed to be a proud parent and an obvious family man. The thing that strikes me about loss of James is that he died trying to save his family and didn't seem to give up. He died alone, cold and not knowing if his wife and 2 children would be found.

I know myself and many others were praying for him and his safety before and after his wife and children were found. I know he really wasn't alone though, because so many people were with him in spirit. My heart goes out to his family.
