Give XP a new look!

There is a "free" way to add more "Visual Styles" / "Themes" to your Windows XP machine without any application running in the background taking up system resources.

1.) Patch your uxtheme.dll file with this small program:
UX Patcher
(Read instructions that come with the program) You will have to restart your system

2.) Download visual styles from:
studiotwentyeight.com

3.) unzip the visual styles to your c:\windows\resources\themes directory.

4.) select your new theme from the "Appearance" tab in the Display properties in the Control Panel.

5.) That's it! Enjoy!

So how exactly is this legitimate? From what I remember uxtheme.dll holds a certificate or key that only allows certified Microsoft themes to be installed. By replacing this file you're violating the terms of the EULA.
