I tried to send a friend of mine a song I made in MP3 format, MSN Messenger Version 7.0.777 blocked it. I had him try to send me a file, same thing. So as anyone might think, I renamed the file to song.jpg and it sent just fine. I told my friend to rename the file back to .MP3 and it played no problem.

If Microsoft thought they had us, they were wrong.
Also, another friend pointed out he had a "Patch" to fix the issue, I didn't install it, but I'm sure it works.

Note to Microsoft,
Some people use the MP3 format for legitimate reasons, whether it be for music, podcasts, etc.
I'm not some 15yr old kid swapping music with my friends after I get home from school, I'm a person that creates audio and use the MP3 compression format to make my files smaller.

I did happen to notice that WMA (Windows Media Audio) send without a problem! Hmmm is this a ploy to get us all to use your audio compression format? I do agree that WMA files do sound better than MP3s but MP3s are far more supported.

As for your current "PLAYS FOR SURE" AD Campaign, you can also tag on "SENDS FOR SURE".

I don't plan to stop using MSN Messenger, but I do think that was a dumb move to block MP3 files.
