Past Moments Remembered

I remember when I was way younger, the kids in the neighborhood would all go to my friend Peter's house. We would play for hours, eat, and go back playing. As I was digging through my MP3s I came across "The Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin" and I began to reflect.

There was a paticular day that I remember at Peter's house, a day when his mother, father, aunt and uncle were there drinking a little bit of wine and playing The Moody Blues. What is so great about this story you say? Well, the thing is I remember that time and it touched me somehow. As us kids are just playing about inside, these "Parent Figures" are making times amoungst themselves, carrying on with there life, listening to music of there generation and having fun.

Now that I have a child of my own, will the music and things I do be embedded into his memories? I'm sure it will, but how will it effect him? Reflecting on this image in my head makes me want to go back in time and be one of the adults participating in the gathering. What where they talking & thinking about? Everything was over my head at that time, but I feel like I was somewhat participating, I was being a young boy observing life happening and going on.

To anyone reading, thanks for letting me get that out.

Its funny how oblivious we all were as children to the world around us and life itself. I suppose we were just unaware of the horrors and sadness that life can bring, I would probly be running through grassy feilds right now instead of working if I had no idea :P

You know... at gatherings of people of my own age, I find that we listen to the music of our parent's generation more than our own. There's something cool about being around a bonfire and listening to Johnny Cash or Led Zeppelin as oppossed to Eminem or fricking Marilyn Manson.
